東京都心から 30分ほどに位置する埼玉県吉川市の吉川団地は、約1900世帯の住む1970年代に建てられた団地である。この団地の名店街におけるスケルトンの一室を訪問介護事業所へと改装する計画であり、事業所のスタッフ待機場になると共に、如何に地域の人が集う空間を作るかが課題となった。この課題に対して行ったのは、 1. 事業所の顔を集いの場をして解放する。2. 内部に人々の集う大テーブルを設ける。3. 人の触れる面の肌理を調整する。という3点であった。名店街の列柱廊がもつ「くの字」の曲がりを受け止めるように設えた造付けの長ベンチは、引き分け窓により内部と連続し、そのままベンチも内部へ引き込まれる。これにより、事業所ファサードが、前面に広がる公園を見守る顔を成している。内部中央にある2m四方のテーブル広場はキッチンを備え、多くの人が集って顔を合わせることを可能にしている。さらに、3.6mという高い天井高を満遍なく仕上げるのでなく、人の手や皮膚が触れる高さまでに注力し、その仕上げや家具の作りを調整した。 2014年4月のオープン直後より、さっそく地域の会合や、編み物教室の会場として使用されている。この空間は福祉施設として特定の用途建築と見做されてきた訪問介護事業所が、これからの地域のコミュニティスペースとして創造される可能性を示している。

Located 30 minutes from central Tokyo, Yoshikawa Danchi in Yoshikawa City, Saitama Prefecture, is a housing complex built in the 1970s with about 1900 households.There is a plan to renovate a skeleton room in the famous shopping district of this complex into a visiting nursing care facility, and it became an issue of how to create a space for the staff of the facility and how to create a space for local people to gather.What we did for this task was1. Release the face of the business office by gathering.2. Provide a large table where people gather.3. Adjust the texture of the surface that people touch.The long porch built to receive the rendition of the colonnade of the shopping street or the "Ku-shaped" is connected to the inside by the draw window, and the porch is drawn into the inside as it is. As a result, the face of the office, overlooks the park that spreads out in front. The 2m-square table hall in the center of the interior is equipped with a kitchen, allowing many people to meet and meet.In addition, we focused on raising the ceiling height of 3.6m evenly and touching the human hands and skin so that people could touch it, and adjusted the finish and the making of furniture.Immediately after the open in April 2014, it has been used as a venue for local meetings and knitting classes. This space is a visiting care office that has been regarded as a special-purpose building as a welfare facility, indicating the possibility of being created as a community space in the future.
