うみさんぽ２ | Umisampo Ⅱ
2015年に竣工した『あそびーち』を拡張する２期工事として、10年前に設置されたイワシ・スライダーの撤去とともに計画されたクラゲ・グラウンド。これまで親しまれてきた２つの遊べるアートは、〈シェリー・ハット〉貝殻の形をなすモルタル造形のあずまや。夏の陽射しを遮り、ヤドカリが貝殻を借りて棲みつくように一休みでき、シェルに穿たれた穴から漏れる太陽光は海中の水泡の揺らめきのよう。〈サンゴ・めいろ〉色とりどりのテトラポットが鉄骨金物で立体的に連結され、珊瑚のめいろを形づくる。小魚の気分で回遊すれば、まるで海底の棲み家のよう。これらとともに〈クラゲ・グラウンド〉クラゲの形をしたモルタル造形のスライダー。クラゲの傘を滑り、コブを登り、５本の足に備わる砂場や水場でさまざまに遊びを見つける場。ペンギンやアザラシといった海の動物が好む空間のスケール、設えを兼ね合わて計画された。
３つがあそびーち計画の全体と呼応し、人と海の動物がともに遊び、くつろぐ風景が広がっている。

The Jellyfish Ground, planned as part of the second phase of works to expand the “Asobi-chi” completed in 2015, alongside the removal of the Sardine Slide installed ten years prior. The two beloved interactive artworks are: 〈Sherry Hat〉 A mortar-formed pavilion shaped like a seashell. It shelters visitors from the summer sun, offering a resting place much like a hermit crab borrowing a shell. Sunlight filtering through holes pierced in the shell resembles the shimmering movement of bubbles beneath the sea. 〈Coral Maze〉: Multicoloured tetrapods are three-dimensionally linked with steel fittings to form a coral maze. Swimming through it like a small fish feels just like an underwater dwelling. Alongside these Playful-Art, the Jellyfish Ground presents a mortar-moulded slide shaped like a jellyfish. Visitors slide down the jellyfish's bell, climb its nodules, and discover diverse play opportunities in the sandpits and water areas provided on its five tentacles. These elements were planned in conjunction with the scale and furnishings of spaces favoured by marine animals such as penguins and seals. A landscape unfolds where people and marine animals play and relax together.
