斜面に沿って配された美ら寿は、東へ西へと連なる室が内外連続 する階段によって緩やかに繋がれている。初めて訪れたとき、心休まる静謐な空間に魅了されると同時に、10年以上使われない間に生命感が失われていることを感じた。

この空間にいま一度、風が通り、人が集い、現代の枠組みで維持されるなら、建築は生き生きした空間として蘇るだろう。この作品は、美ら寿という建築の記録と修復、その行為を通した人の空間への参加、というプロセスの実践により蘇生への第一歩を表現している。

まず、展示スペースである内外の階段まわりを実測・作図し、つぎに油墨を用いて立体物の凹凸を転写する拓本技術を用い、外部階段のあり様を和紙に写し採った。その後、崩れて歩行困難だった外部階段の既存レンガを削り、モルタルの施工により修復した。そしてこの夏、このプロセスの実践するため2度に渡って10名の学生がここに集った。内部階段に吊られたかつての様子を写す拓本を眼で、修復された外部階段を身体で感じる、蘇生プロセスの階段である。

“Biraju” is arranged along the slope, and is gently connected by a room connecting east to west or a continuous staircase inside and outside.When I visited for the first time, I was fascinated by the peaceful and relaxing space, and at the same time, I felt that I had lost my sense of life or life when it had not been used for more than 10 years. If this space is once again maintained by the wind, the streets, the people and the modern framework, the architecture will be revived as a living space. This work expresses the first step to resuscitation by practicing the process of recording and restoring the architectural beauty, and participating in the human space through the act.First, we measured and plotted the stairs inside and outside the exhibition space, and used Takuhon technology to transfer the unevenness of the three-dimensional object using oil ink.Later, the existing staircases on the outer stairs, which had collapsed and made it difficult to walk, were scraped and repaired with mortar.And this summer, students gathered here twice to do this process. There is a revival process staircase where people can experience the restored exterior stairs with their eyes, looking at a rubbing paper of the former state suspended on the inner stairs.
