北海道江別市の大麻銀座商店街の長屋のなか、かつてスーパーマーケットだった建物部分を改修し、児童福祉施設とする計画。以前、魚屋、肉屋、惣菜屋が通り抜け動線に沿って並んでいたわたなべストアーの構成を踏襲し、長屋を貫通するように、街の人を含む様々な人が通り抜けられるわたなべストリートを設けた。そこにはサイズの異なる棚を設け、時には八百屋になり、時には本のマーケットとなり、時にはギャラリーとなるような、可変性を備えた楽しい道とした。さらに、そこから部屋側を覗くと、キッチン、ダイニング、アトリエなどが連なり、障がいのある人も、地域の人もともに混じって過ごす空間を想定した。

This project is to renovate a former supermarket located in the tenement house of Oasa Ginza Shopping Street in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido to become a welfare facility. The new space followed the structure of a previous Watanabe store where fish shops, butcher shops, and side dish shops were lined up along the walkthrough passage. This is a space where various people, including people from the city, can pass through the Watanabe Street of the tenement house. There were shelves of different sizes, sometimes a greengrocer, sometimes a book market, sometimes a gallery, making it a fun, variable path. Looking into the room from the Watanabe street, the kitchen, dining, and atelier were connected, and we assumed a space where people with disabilities and people from the area could spend time together here.
